Swatch and Review: Sleek Lip 4 Palette in Tease

I was stumped for a bit as to what should be the inaugural post here at Blue-haired Beauty, but I finally decided it should be something that I couldn't really screw up. So! The Sleek Lip4 Palette in Tease pretty much fits the bill.

This palette offers 4 amazing reds, two cool tones and two warm tones, in either matte, satin, or gloss. It includes a lip brush, which is a bit crap, but as far as I can tell, that's standard for brushes that come with palettes. If you're in a pinch and don't have any other brush, it'll do. The palette includes a really good-sized mirror and the palette itself looks far more posh than the price. It's made of sturdy matte black plastic that doesn't feel as if it's going to fall apart if I bang it around in the black hole that is my bag.

Swatches and Review after the jump!

These shades all go on really nice and opaque in one coat.

The two glossy shades are super glossy, almost like the finish of a lip gloss, but fairly thick. They aren't sticky at all and don't feel drying. I wouldn't say they are moisturising but they do have a lovely slip to them. The satin and matte shades are on the dry side, with the matte shade being slightly harder to get out of the pan and onto the brush. However, both go on smoothly and evenly. The satin shade has very little shine to it and I originally thought the palette had two matte shades before a peek at the Sleek website told me true. Either way, neither shade feels drying as some mattes tend to do.

Also, I've learned that taking close-up pictures of your face is terrifying. Tiny little hairs I didn't realise I had looked like the beginnings of a really boss moustache. It made me want to go laser my entire body. Because of that, I blurred the holy fuck out of my skin on these, but I haven't altered the lip area in any way.

These wear really nicely and have excellent staying power. When they do start to fade, they do so evenly so you don't end up looking like you outlined your mouth in red and forgot to do the middle.

The one possible negative about this lipstick palette? All these shades stain like nothing I've ever worn. This picture is after I had the swatches on my arm for all of two minutes. A day and a shower later, it's still there.

The stain that just won't quit.

As you can imagine, this also happens in the lip area, which is why in the four close ups, my lips seem to get larger as you go down the list. I personally don't mind that they stain, but you do have to be careful with application. These only give you a second or two to correct mistakes before you have a massive red splotch that now needs concealer.

There are six Lip 4 palettes in different colourways. They sell for £8.99 and can be purchased at Superdrug or online at sleekmakeup.com
