Yaby Eye Shadow Pans |
Swatches and review behind the jump!
I'm really impressed with these. The pigmentation is fantastic. They are maybe just slightly less pigmented than Sugarpill shades, which are my gold standard for pigmentation. The only colour that's a bit on the sheer side is Papaya Milk, which is a matte shade, but even it is buildable. These blend brilliantly without looking muddy or diminished.
The Pearl Paints have a good bit of shine to them or possibly the correct term is gloss. They do have really subtle glitter in them, so subtle in fact that I didn't notice it was there until I saw the close-up photos. The mattes are really blendable, not powdery or chalky. In fact, these Yaby mattes are a lot silkier than some other frost shadows that I have. I only have one frost finish, so I don't feel qualified to make any general statements about them, but the one I do have, has the same finish as the Pearl Paints without the glitter.
I always wear these over primer so I can't really give any sort of estimate of their staying power. With primer, I've worn these for 12 hours with no creasing or fading.
The only negative to these is the size of the pans. They are itty-bitty, the size of a Uk five pence. However, they are ultra-pigmented, so you don't need much product at a go. And, I suppose, since they are around £2.70 per pan, it just means I can buy a tonne of different colours fairly cheaply.
All the swatches are two swipes over bare skin.
